Oceanfront Castles Are Part of the housing mix along Southeast Annadale’s Coastline
The Shore-front homes can sit in seclusion from the daily rigors of city life, all right inside one of the largest city’s in the world. Some areas of Staten Island Shore front are hidden from view. Large natural parks that dot the coastline keep many neighborhoods along Staten Island’s coastline hidden behind a curtain of trees and nature. Homes like the ones pictured below, are afforded a view of uninhabited beaches, and the morning sunrise.
Southeast Annadale’s Nicolosi Drive is one of the more well known waterfront communities on Staten Island. Luxury homes, like the ones pictured below are can be priced in the 2+ Million dollar range. Eltingville™s shore front, in most cases, doesn™t come to mind when considering waterfront homes in Staten Island. We™ll I™m here to tell you it does exist. When you combine cost and an unprecedented quality of life, it™s a best bet for home seekers in New York City looking for waterfront living.

Eltingville™s waterfront borders Great Kills Beach, and at its dividing line at Armstrong the housing begins its transformation into more modern housing stock. Now, that is not too say that homes in Great Kills beach are old, but the bungalow community and homes can date back to the turn of the century. In Eltingville man homes were constructed primarily from the mid 1950™s on, and many newly constructed home exist in both communities. However, there will be rather distinct differences in the general appearance of the housing stock as you move further west from Armstrong Ave. into Eltingville™s waterfront community. Now, in some circles some this area of Eltingville is sometimes considered Crescent Beach. Crescent Beach and Park is at the southern end on Armstrong Ave. and like the park it in great kills, the backdrop is the mouth of Great Kills Harbor and the Raritan Bay. The park, while mostly passive, it does have recreational amenities for kids. The best is while much of Staten Island while the rest of the island can be baking in the 90+ heat, the ocean sea breezes can drop temperatures into the 80™s at the waterfront.

Waterfront homes along Tennyson Drive
Many homes right along Eltingville’s waterfront have great views of the Raritan Bay right out into Atlantic Ocean. If you move just southwest of Armstrong Ave. along Tennyson Drive many of the homes, while waterfront, these homes similar in style to many middle class neighborhoods, from semi attached homes to high ranch homes. However, once you get to the back yard of these homes it™s a much different experience, as you can see from the photo above.

What to save on gas, hire a goat. The National Park Service in Fort Wadsworth has decided on hiring a few goats to handle the landscaping chores. We™ll let™s chalk one up for going green in the borough of parks. Who would have thought? I™ll be off to the farm shortly to get my own. (NBC)
