Staten Island Real Estate News, Advice and Information Blog turns 2 years old.
Posted by Anthony Licciardello under For Buyers, For Realty Professionals, For Sellers, Regional News, Staten Island, NY
As I take a look at what these last 2 years have brought, and writing this blog taught me more about my own ingenuity than I could have ever been consciously aware of. I have heard everything from “you have a little too much time on your hands” to “how do you keep up doing that?” My answer is, its now part of my identity. In a very practical definition of what I mean , its like where those old neighborhood nicknames derived from. For instance, Joey “bag of donuts” got his nickname because every morning he’s seen with a wax paper bag in hand, in what at least looked like donuts. As for me, its Anthony “aren’t you that real estate blogger guy”… well I guess that’s what is for now.
So much has happened in just the past 2 years.
Over the last two years we have seen some of the hardiest economic times unfold before our eyes. In the two years there’s been some hills and valleys in the economy, but profoundly its not been better for a lot of folks. However, for sanity’s sake, You have to have a laugh or two about it, one such post a little over year ago, seem to catch a glimpse of always going on economically. There were also moments that short emotional chords with me personally in this crisis, as seen in this post. I’m sure when this blog reaches ten years old, these posts will be a time capsule that folks will look upon and say I remember those times. Like all Americans we know tomorrow holds better fortunes than today.
The last two years have been a great success for me personally, while many folks attribute that to my knowledge of technology, I simply tell them the only thing I’m doing is putting the human voice everything they have seen online. This remains a people business; meaning if it isn’t about people, is not likely to succeed. Technology is only part of a very large picture. Some people ask me; “Anthony, how do you do it.” My response, I give people what they ask for, but now I have to do it online.”
Looking back, it’s kind of funny the journey I have been on just because of this blog. However, this year’s best recommendation from my blog was from a Doctor who was selling his home. He said “Anthony, do you know why I asked you to sell my home?” I said no, I had not. He continued on by saying, “Anyone who has spent the amount of time writing, almost as much as I did in getting my doctorate, has to be the right guy to sell my house.” I smiled, and quickly thought to myself, someone actually noticed, just before thanking him of course. I believe the key word in the Doctors reply was “almost”, but I’ll take that as a complement anyhow.
Many Thanks….
